Besides the centres’ reports of accomplished and on-going programmes, the meeting featured a special session where Inter-Centre Collaboration Programmes by different centres were presented for discussion and approval.
SEAMEO CELLL’s proposal on the workshop “Building learning societies in SEAMEO Member Countries: Progress and Future Development” as part of a regional project received much attention from other SEAMEO centres. The workshop is intended to result in:
1) providing a general conceptual framework for building learning societies;
2) introducing good practices of BLS in the countries; and
3) informing policy makers of promising policies and practices in BLS that can support them in decision making.
The year 2020 marks the ending of SEAMEO’s Strategic Plan 2011-2020 and the building of the new Strategic Plan 2020-2030, which reflects current trends and future development in education, science and culture.
This SSP will play an important role as a guideline for SEAMEO CELLL activities throughout the mentioned period.
Despite being the first virtual meeting, CDM 2020 proved to be an effective and efficient mode. Its success promises to open up a new way of collaboration within the network of SEAMEO.
